Organism Data Disk
Creating the Data Disk
· Take a copy of the Data Disk template and two pieces of white construction paper. Glue the template page onto a sheet of card stock. Cut out the perimeter of the template and use this disk to trace a circle onto the second sheet of construction paper and cut out this circle as well.
· Cut out the two windows marked with the dashed lines on the template. Then have them place this on top of the second circle and fasten them together by pushing a metal brad through the center dot.
Completing the Data Disk
· Write the word “Organism” above the top window and the word “Examples” below the bottom window, as shown in the sample project above. You should write your name on the left side of the disk and use creative lettering to write the title “Organisms” on the right side of the disk.
· Write the word “Producers” inside the top window. Beneath this word, still inside the window, you should write a few facts about the interdependence of this organism in the food chain. Inside the bottom window, draw several pictures representing different producers found in different biomes around the globe.
· Rotate the disk and write the word “Consumers” and add a few facts in the top window about the interdependence of this organism in the food chain. Draw pictures in the bottom window.
· Rotate the disk again and repeat this process with “Decomposers”.
